Date: Saturday, May 21, 2011 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Each actor must be conscious of God's presence behind the screen of Maya (illusion); each must be anxious to catch the faintest suggestion He might give, keeping a corner of the eye always on Him and having the ear pitched to catch His voice. Instead of this, if a person forgets the plot and the story (that is to say, the work for which one has come and the duties that appertain thereto), neglects to watch the presence behind the screen, and simply stands dumb on the stage, the audience will laugh at their folly and charge the person with spoiling the show. For these reasons, every actor who has to play the role of a person on the world stage must first learn the lines well and then, remembering the Lord behind the screen, await His orders. The attention must be on both: the lines one learned for the role and the stage manager's directions. Meditation alone gives one this concentration and this awareness. BABA  Date: Friday, May 20, 2011 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Some are born healthy and some others, unhealthy. Some lead prosperous, carefree lives, while others toil throughout their lives in dire poverty. Certainly, it can be argued that there are signs enough of the partiality that the Creation or Creator reveals. Such inference may even appear justified from the ordinary man's point of view. The pure stream of spiritual culture declares that this is not true at all! God is not the cause of either misery or joy, of good fortune or bad! Then, who brings about the evil and the good? The answer is—we ourselves! Rain falls equally on ploughed land and on unploughed. Only the ploughed land derives benefit therefrom! The clouds are not to blame. The fault lies in the ignorant idler who lets his land lie fallow. The grace of God is ever at hand. It has no 'more or less,' no ups or downs. We draw upon it, more or less, or let it go by, or use it for our good. BABA |

| 20TH MAY 2011 Om Sairam dearest Sai Family, Last night (19th May 2011), there was heavy thunder storm after which it rained heavily in Puttaparthi resulting in partial collapse of the most famous Kalpa vriksham (wish fulfilling tree as it is commonly called). This tamarind tree was a historic one. According to the legend, Swami as a small boy, used to take some of His close friends and classmates to the tree which is on a hill top at the end of Chitravathi road. There Swami used to ask His friends to think of any fruit or object and He used to pluck the same from that tamarind tree. There were many instances when He plucked apples, mangoes etc during unseason times that too from a tamarind tree. He even gave laddu and other sweets from that tree.This tree later on was called as Kalpavriksham, the tree which will fulfill your wishes. PRASANTHI UPDATES - Bhagawan’s Samadhi is beautifully decked with flowers of various hues every day
| Monday, May 15, 2011 Keeping alive the tradition of Parthi Yatra, 185 devotees from Chennai Metro North have embarked on a pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam, the abode of peace to pay homage to their Beloved Lord from 13th to 15th May 2011. Meanwhile all festivals continue to be celebrated in Prasanthi Nilayam. Buddha Purnima which falls on the full moon night in the month of Vaisakha, commemorates the birth anniversary and Maha Samadhi of Lord Buddha, founder of Buddhism will be celebrated on the 17th and 18th May 2011. Elaborate arrangements have been made for about 700 devotees from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam are who are expected to visit this holy abode. Bhagawan's Samadhi is beautifully decked with flowers of various hues every day. It is a sight to watch devotees in large numbers filing past paying their obeisance to their dear Lord both in the morning and evening. Photographs of Bhagawan are placed on either side of the Samadhi and at various vantage points in Sai Kulwant Hall. The smiling visage of Bhagawan in those magnificent photographs brings alive in the minds of devotees His pleasing physical form. Yes, He is always with us guiding and guarding us at every step.
