THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
You are pure and indestructible; you are beyond the ups and downs of life; you are the true, the eternal, the unchanging Brahmam (Divine Self). A mere five-minute inquiry will convince you that you are not the body, the senses, the mind or the intelligence, the name or the form; but that you are the Aatma Itself - the same Aatma that appears as all this variety. Once you get a glimpse of this truth, hold on to it; do not allow it to slip. Make it your permanent possession. Look upon all with love, respect and faith in their sincerity. Treat your servants kindly. Do not entertain hatred or contempt in your heart. Repent for the errors that you commit and decide never to repeat them; pray for strength to carry out your resolutions. Do not find fault with others. Purify your heart by being good to all.

If Arjuna was an individual like others, he could not have been an effective instrument, a recipient and transmitter of great teachings. He is a hero who has defeated not merely the outer foes, but even the inner ones. Weak hearts cannot grasp the Geetha and put it into practice. It is with this full knowledge that Krishna selected Arjuna and showered on him His overpowering grace. Once Krishna said: "Arjuna, you are My closest Bhaktha (devotee); you are also My dearest friend. That is the reason why I taught you this supreme, secret teaching." Reflect on this! To get the title from the Lord Himself is the highest credential and good fortune, which reflects how pure-hearted and deserving Arjuna was. Bhakthi (devotion) must be won by implicit obedience. But being a devotee alone is not sufficient. Hence Krishna uses the word mithra (friend). The friend has no fear; that makes him a more perfect recipient.

Satyajits talk with mp3 audio files - Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Personal caretaker delivered a speech at Sai darshan

Shared thru email by a loving Sai devotee
Sai- The Divine Sculptor
(this was the topic Sathyajit gave to his speech)
"....Dear Brothers and sisters, this is a very emotional moment for me to stand here today as memories flood in of me coming to this holy temple with Swami many times in the past , I remember my place was fixed by the side of the throne ( and he pointed the spot next to the throne) – I also got an opportunity to go to Swami's dining room here on the first floor where Swami has had  so many lunches cooked by these loving Mothers of Saidarshan.

On our way back to Parthi after watching many a drama enacted by the 'SaiDarshan' Balvikas students, Swami used to appreciate and  tell us all present in the car that these street children did such a wonderful job.
Today the topic I have chosen is Sai- The Divine Sculptor – the reason being that is I was always intrigued by the sculpture by Rodin – the thinker – I used to wonder, what is he thinking? Perhaps he is thinking about his creator the sculptor.
Similarly I too am thinking about my sculptor – who chose me "this rock" to make a sculpture out of me. I was just a rock who Swami picked, and then he marked me for future sculpting.   My journey started in the year 1991- I was a Mumbai boy a typical city boy of that age – It was on my fourth day in the Sathya Sai University in the Brindavan campus when during breakfast I whispered to my friend Sai Satish , " what is this we get only 4 idlis here – at home I used to eat 10 idlis!" After breakfast  we were sitting for darshan and I was on the 3rd or 4th row Swami walked straight up to me , looked at me and said something which I could not follow , I went near and Swami repeated it and everybody behind me replied , "IDLI!!" I was shocked I thought Swami was asking what I ate for breakfast so I also said, 'Idli Swami!' Swami said, "Kitna idli ?"  I was shocked I and Sai Satish looked at each other in horror – Swami said, "Kya bola ? ghar mei das idli khata aur yahan khali char idli?"( what did u say? At home u ate 10 idlis and here u get only 4 idlis?) . I tried to be as diplomatic as ever and said, "No Swami these idli's are very big idlis – nice idlis!" I was fumbling with words, trying to be my diplomatic best. After that Swami did not speak to me for the next 5 years – my sculptor had marked the rock for future sculpting when the rock was ready for the hammer and tongs....READ MORE

Even as India looked towards Delhi to salute the President of India on the National Republic Day, delegates from Delhi made a pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam to pay homage to the President of the Heart, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It was an extremely pleasant programme with a great compilation of popular songs in praise of Mother India and Mother Sai. The programme spread across all genres from Carnatic to Hindustani, from Light music to Qawwali and from Sufi to Patriotic.

The programme started with the celebrated patriotic number Vande Mataram but with a novel and original presentation. The Bhajan "Manasa Bhaja Re", reminded us of Bhagawan's first musical discourse, the Carnatic piece "Brahmam Okate" exalted the singularity of Divinity and the Qawwali "Tere Dar Pe Jo Bhi Aaye" filled our hearts with gratitude. The next song was a moving piece, 'Kaise Jeeyun Mein Yun Tere Bin", a song yearning for the end of separation.

The Meera Bhajan "Chakar Rakho ji" often performed by Bharat Ratna M. S. Subbulakshmi in the Divine presence was next followed by the patriotic number "Sare Jahan Se Acha" reminding us of the beauty and grandeur of Mother India. The famous sufi number "Dama Dam Mast Kalandar" on the ecstatic devotion of Allah's favourite son was the pen-ultimate piece to be fittingly concluded by "Deewane Deewane Sai Ke Deewane", a song mentioning how madly in love we are with our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

All the participants were honoured with clothes and Prasadam was distributed to the gathering. Being Thursday the day had an auspicious conclusion as the hall was filled with the sweet voice of Bhagawan singing "Govinda Hare, Gopala Hare". Arati was offered at 1815hrs.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A crocodile's strength depends on it being in water; the strength of Dharma (Right Conduct) depends on it being practised. Dharma will be weak when it is taken out of practice and thrown on the sands of words. Sathya is a matter of speech and it gets strength when it is consistently practised. The term 'Strength' here has two meanings: Animal (Asuric) strength and Dharmic strength. In the epic Mahabharatha, Bhima (the second of the five Pandava brothers) had physical strength, but as his elder brother Dharmaja was by his side, Bhima's strength became Dharmic. The Pandavas were saved by their adherence to Dharma! But for their right conduct, they would have suffered defeat right in the very beginning. And why did the Kauravas (the hundred brothers whom the Pandavas fought against) lose in spite of their undoubted strength? They lacked Dharmic strength. All that they could rely on was sheer animal strength.

Yesterday's thought

The One God is the inner motivator (Sarvaantharyaami) of all beings. If He is within all, why is He not visible to all, you may ask. Let me give you an example. Picture a rosary of different types of beads: coral, pearl, tulasi, rudraaksha, crystal, conch, etc. The string passes through each rosary and holds all the beads together but it is visible only in the transparent beads. So too, you have to make yourself transparent, free from wish and will, that hide and befogs the Lord Within. Then you can see the Inner Motivator. To earn this transparency, purity of intention, impulse and instinct is essential. You can achieve it by systematic and sincere spiritual discipline. A ladder has to be as tall as the height you want to reach. So too, your spiritual practices (sadhana) has to be pursued till you experience Him.
