Onam Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam Day 2:
Satsanga
Mahatmyam…

Sunday, September 15th, 2013

Continuing with the festive spirit of Onam, beautiful children from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Peeth, Srisailam, Kozhikode, Kerala  presented a Musical Dance Drama entitled 'Satsanga Mahatmyam' this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The presentation was a thesis on the greatness of Satsang, that leads one to his Ultimate Goal of Realisation. Depicting the epochal rivalry between Sage Vishwamitra and Sage Vasishta, wherein Sage Vasishta repeatedly belittled Vishwamitra refusing to accept his Brahmarishi status, the presentation heralds the greatness of Satsang , which alone finally helped Vishwamitra the much coveted Brahmarishi status.

Beginning depicting Vishwamitra's desire for the Celestial Cow, Nandini, a desire which was rejected by Sage Vasishta, subsequent scenes present Vishwamitra's severe penance and his increasing rivalry that ends up in his attempt to kill Vasishta. Understanding his folly when Vishwamitra accepts Vasishta, beseeching him to initiate him into Brahmadeeksha, Vasishta in turn sends him to Lord Adisesha. Vishwamitra learns the finer lessons at the hands of Adisesha, who exploited Vishwamitra's weaknesses, advising him to meditate on his guru Vasishta while trying to understand the greatness of Satsang.

The presentation was intertwined with beautiful dance and song sequences…ended in perfect style with Bhagawan singing His famous Bhajan, "Hare Rama…Satsangatwe Nissangatwam…"
