Date: Thursday, April 19, 2012 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY You must tread the spiritual path with an unstoppable urge to reach the goal, and must cultivate the yearning for liberation. You have to dwell in a home built on the four strong pillars – Righteousness, Wealth, Desire and Liberation (Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha). That is, Righteousness should be the means to acquire Wealth and Liberation should be the only Desire. However much you may earn wealth or garner strength, unless you tap the springs of bliss within you, you cannot have peace and lasting contentment. The name manava (man) itself means, one who has no trace of ignorance. To deserve this name, you must remove your ignorance by incessant activity motivated by good impulses. - Sri Sathya Sai Baba   Yesterday's Thought   Date: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 The ear fills the head. The head directs the arm and the arm acts. So hear good things; do good things and share good things. That gives joy and contentment. Speak softly, kindly and lovingly; that is Dharma (righteousness). Give generously and wisely. Wipe the tear and assuage the sigh and the groan. Do not simply throw money at the needy – give with grace and humility, respect and reverence. Try to live with others harmoniously. Do not judge others by their dress or exterior. Nurturing anger and hatred in your heart is like carrying a pot with many holes for bringing water. Discard anger, hatred, envy and greed.
