In ancient times, the sages performed rigorous penance in the forests, living among wild animals. With no weapons in their hands, they relied on their spirit of love to protect them. They performed their penance with love for all beings. Their love transformed even the wild animals to be at peace with the sages. Love transformed even tigers into friendly beings. People in those days had soft and loving hearts. Thus since time immemorial, love has been serving as a powerful force to transform one's nature from the animal to the human. Today because people have lost the feeling of love, they are filled with selfishness and greed. It is to teach mankind the truth about this Divine Love that Love itself incarnates on earth in human form. The scriptures declare that the Divine descends on earth to teach mankind the path of Righteousness, Truth and Love. (Divine Discourse, Sep 2, 1991)

In three situations, you do not have freedom: the discharge of duties (karthavyam), actions done under compulsion (nirbandham) and obligatory actions arising out of certain relationships (sambandham). If a poor man, unable to get food, resorts to stealing, he cannot claim that he is exercising his freedom to appease his hunger. Even if, for his own selfish reasons, he may try to justify the stealing, his conscience will tell him that he is committing wrong. Any action performed against one's conscience is not an act of freedom. True freedom happens only when one is free from the impulses of the mind. Freedom (Swechcha) is made up of the words: Swa + ichcha. 'Swa' means Atma. Only when the will of the Atma prevails can there be real freedom. God and you are not separate. This oneness should not be a mere intellectual concept. It should be a living reality. Then you will experience true freedom - the freedom of the Spirit. (Divine Discourse, May 31, 1990)

The external is the creation of the internal. Brahmam manifested itself as the Universe. God created the world; the world conferred the glory of 'Creator' on God. Through his yearning, imagination and intensity man endowed God with a form and name, and a bunch of attributes from which he hopes to benefit. But, God is above and beyond human traits and characteristics known as Gunas. Krishna told Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, "I have no need to engage Myself in any activity. But yet, I am busy acting, in order to promote the well-being of the Universe." The Gita refers to its chapters as Yoga. Yoga means union of the Self with its source. How do the eighteen chapters, each a Yoga, help man to fulfill his destiny? The Gita provides the answer: "Samathvam Yogam Uchyathe" (Yoga is being in a state of equal-mindedness or equanimity). (Divine Discourse, Sep 7, 1985)

Darshan Story on 13 August 2010 in Prasanthi Nilayam

As the saying goes, "…with childlike innocence…" this wonderfully blessed evening that was enlightened by His Direct Divine Presence, 107 chidren from Arabian Gulf and the Middle East sang their hearts out to their Beloved Swami…and ending their programme they had a unique prayer, blurted with childlike innocence, praying for the welfare of all children around the world…it was a very poignant moment for Prasanthi as Lord was seated right on stage receiving their hearts' innocent chirpings…
Given below is an excerpt from the Darshan Story on 13 August 2010 in Prasanthi Nilayam as chronicled by The Prasanthi Reporter…Let's read..assimilate…live with it and thus manifest HIM, our Beloved Mother Sai!
Let's re-connect to PRASANTHI DARSHAN UPDATES to connect to THE BEAUTY BEYOND COMPARE!!!

Fri, Aug 13, 2010: Today, in the evening, emerging at 1740 hrs. to the chants of Vedam, Bhagawan came for a full round of darshan. Towards the end of the round, Bhagawan paused for a while at the ladies' side, interacting with some before coming onto the portico. Gliding through the lower portico, Bhagawan blessed some 'organisational' officials then  onstage at 1805 hrs. and as He was gliding past, Bhagawan was seen 'repeating' the Vedic incantations in tandem with the chanting by the students.

Coming onstage, as the Vedic incantations went on, Bhagawan blessed the organisers and some of the participants from Region 94, who were set to stage a cultural presentation.
The programme titled, "Prema Tarangini", meaning Ocean of Love, was a loving offering by the Balvikas children from Arabian Gulf and the Middle East Region, comprising of eight centres, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
As Veda chanting ended at 1810 hrs. an official introduction on the programme followed afterwhich the children from the region took over the proceedings.

Starting with Sainatha Ashatakam, they went on singing another five hymns for the next 25 minutes before the seniors took over for the next half-an-hour singing melodious bhajans. At the end of the children programme Bhagawan blessed one little blossoming bud with Vibhuti Prasadam followed by another one with a materialised golden chain. Subsequently, Bhagawan called the boy once again onstage presenting him an 'instant' photo print of the same.
At 1910 hrs. Bhagawan indicated for Mangala Arathi. Upon accepting Arathi, Bhagawan moved down the dais to pose for a group photo session with both the groups, children and the bhajan troupe. 107 seven children from eight centres participated in the evening's presentation.

Moving off the dais at 1920 hrs. Bhagawan went into the interview room to spend next fifteen minutes in before emerging to retire at 1935 hrs.
This blessed evening in Prasanthi was made more beautiful by the surge of wave of love from the other end of Arabic Ocean. These tiny tots had a unique prayer unto Bhagawan, praying for the welfare of children all over the globe. This wave of prayers was sure to have reached The Lord!
