| Date: Saturday, February 25, 2012 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY The aim of all human effort is to achieve the oneness that lies behind all the plurality. Without accomplishing this, one cannot be in peace. No amount of repetition of the shanthi manthra (hymn of peace) is capable of granting that. The same current activates the many seemingly distinct instruments like the bulb, the mike, the fan, the refrigerator, the tape recorder, the stove, etc. The Guru is the one who reveals to you that invisible current. The guru is like the stranger who entered the cottage of a poor man and announced that underneath the floor in his home, lies hidden a precious treasure which he can own, by a few minutes of digging. To make the gold more amenable to ornament making, it is alloyed by the addition of a little silver or copper. So too in order to manifest the multiple variety of Nature, the Brahmathathwam (Divine essence) is converted into an alloy, with the addition of a little egoism or mamakaaram. The Guru teaches one to regain the pure unalloyed state through the process of Sravanam, Mananam and Nidhidhyaasam (Listening to, recapitulating and meditating on God's glories). Through this process, one can understand that the individual Self is one and the same as the Divine Self and is infact facet of the same entity. - Sri Sathya Sai Baba |

| The Post Graduate Students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam campus presented a dance programme entitled, 'Shivoham'.
They started the programme with a choreography to the words of Sri Rudraprasnah Laghunyasah followed by Shiva Panchakshari Mantra interspersed with select Anuvakas of Sri Rudram. Gratitude Offerings by Higher Secondary Children… | |||||||||
| A Gratitude Programme by the twin passing out batches of Sri Sathya Sai Higher Seconday School, Prasanthi Nilayam this evening marked the beginning of the Gratitude Series for the year 2012 in Prasanthi Nilayam. This evening's presentation was by the students of 10th and 12th standards scheduled to appear for the Board Examinations in March. Beginning with a Qawwali offering salutations, these grateful children presented their gratitude programme in style, reminiscing the golden period they were fortunate to spend in the hallowed portals of Prasanthi Nilayam, under the watchful eyes of Beloved Mother Sai.  Reassuring that physical moving on of Bhagawan does not mean His absence, the students reiterated in a united voice that Bhagawan is very much there, watching over the proceedings and to authenticate the fact, they burst in to a spell of personal experiences, included dream sequences and personal interactions. Singing to Beloved Mother Sai praying to Him…"Life After Life Be By Our Side Oh Our Lord" these grateful students continued for an hour immersing the Sai Kulwant assembly into bliss, telling one and all why they are privileged to be called "His Own…".  At the end of the presentation students sought Divine Blessings for their board examination. Sri Sivaramakrishnaiah, Principal, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School offered the hall tickets at Bhagawan's Lotus Feet seeking Divine Blessings. Students followed with group offerings. Bhajans continued for the next 20 minutes before Mangala Arathi offering at 1820 hrs. Entire batch of students was presented with special mementos as a token of love from Beloved Bhagawan. Prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly of devotees. An announcement was made on a special dance programme by the Post Graduate students of SSSIHL, entitled "Shivoham" schedule for tomorrow, 23rd Feb 2012 evening. | |||||||||

You may wonder how; it is because such people are content with whatever happens to them, well or ill, as they are convinced that the Lord's will must prevail. Want of this contentment is a sign of a ajnani (unwise person). The ajnani piles one wish on another, builds one plan after another and pines perpetually; he or she worries and sets one's own heart ablaze with greed. On the other hand, the Jnani is unshaken, steady and ever jubilant! The Jnanis may be engaged in karma (actions) but they are not affected in the least by it, as they have no eye on the fruit of their actions. - Sri Sathya Sai Baba |
